Systems and Facility Administrator

About the Role

We are looking for a tech-savvy, service-oriented, people person to manage our flagship headquarters location in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. The systems and facility administrator will support the operational backbones of the organization — information systems that the team and our customers use, as well as the facility IT and experience.

The ideal candidate enjoys nuts and bolts operations and takes pride in getting the details right. They will be efficient and resourceful in ambiguous environments, with an ability to manage different projects and tasks at any given time. This position is an in-person role managing our healthcare technology innovation hub, conveniently located in downtown Chicago.

The person in this role will:

  • Ensure that entrepreneurs and executives have everything they need to have a great experience while at MATTER
  • Ensure that the facility is fully operational so our customers have a great experience in our space
  • Ensure that the technology in our facility, including the wireless internet, printers and A/V equipment is fully functional, and troubleshoot any issues
  • When things break in the office, schedule and supervise maintenance repair work and interface with our landlord
  • Support all in-office operations, including maintaining hardware/software assets, office technology and being a consistent resource for the MATTER team, customers and guests
  • Manage vendor relations related to office operations and technology/softwares, including working with service providers for the office wifi network and printers
  • Serve as the IT help desk for our customers and our internal team, including provisioning software licenses and managing hardware
  • Support the community experience coordinator by providing front desk coverage when needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience running systems, operations and facilities/offices or comparable position
  • Relentless dedication to customer service and superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Savvy with tech used to run a professional office environment (e.g., conference room A/V, wifi)
  • Ability to travel and work out of our downtown Chicago office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
